Here's a picture of Allison at football practice. She had just pulled someone's flag. I didn't get a good picture of Jon that didn't have other kids in it.

Here's Isaac at football practice. He just LOVES the dirt there.lol

Here's a cute picture I took today.

You have beautiful children. I agree with the advent calendar torture, I didn't even try it this year (not a tradition with us yet). Can I send you my ironing?

Thanks! I wouldn't recommend the Advent torture unless your kids are older and will be able to refrain from asking you if they can open another box every 15-20 minutes for 24 days.LOL

Yes, send your ironing. I may not send it back though. What size is it?LOLOL

ah - see I've never done those little box calendars....and I almost tried one with Hershey's kisses and in the knick of time thought "What - are you CRAZY???? You can't do that". LOL

I'm glad that you didn't fall into this trap. I keep thinking that it'll get easier if I just hang in there a little longer but really, it's not getting better, she's just getting more frustrated.LOL

I think it does depend on the age. Our ds 8 last year, 9 this year, really enjoys it. Our little one (3 yo) asks every morning if today is the day we get to open packages. We mark the calendar off and so far today he hasn't asked (LOL).

You must have the brand of child with the more than 20 second memory.lol I didn't upgrade and have been kicking myself ever since...lolol

LOL! I know kids are different and I'm always so surprised how long of an attention span the boys have had even when little. THe girls did, but I thought it was just because they were girls. Both of the boys will stay occupied with the same project for hours on end.... as long as it has anything to do with trucks or tricking them..... and trains.... anything train. I suppose God knew that I have fewer patience than most and gave me kids I could work with (LOL).

My first two were like this. Very patient and able to retain info easily. They would have gotten a lot out of an Advent calendar but I didn't even know about them at the time.lol Evie is not able to retain things well at the moment. I think she is more like her mom in many ways.lol I think an Advent calendar would have driven me crazy at her age also.lolol The jury is still out on Isaac. He's way more animated than my first two but he's learning things at warp speed which indicates to me that he may have more of his dad in him.lol He too, can keep himself busy with anything "manly" for hours by himself but instead of being quiet, he's usually the loudest "engine" in my house.lolol
