Twirly-Girly Skirt...

I finished another project today. I did most of it last night after the littles went to bed, but saved the waist for today when I could measure Evie.

Photobucket
My biggest mistake was not consulting Evie about color selection before making it. Oh well, at least I have Sophia. Maybe SHE'LL wear it once she's a bit taller. I think it's pretty.

If you all are interested in making your own twirly skirt, I found a tutorial for making them at...

I'm going to work on shirts now. I'll definitely let Evie pick the fabric.lol

Why, it's Water Fun Day...

Didn't you all know?lol

Photobucket

It's 80 degrees today and the littles have no concept of seasons. Poor dears. We only have pool season and not pool season. Genevieve keeps asking if it's pool season yet. No, not yet dear but enjoy the hose on this beautiful day.

Christmas Day...

The littles awoke in a flurry on Christmas morning. This is what they found...

Isaac was hilarous! Last year, he opened one gift, had a temper-tantrum and went back to bed. This year, he was a delight to watch. His expressions were priceless.LOL Of course, by the end, he did end up melting down, but until then it was so much fun watching him...

These were the big gifts this year... three big cars!

I know that it looks like we spent a fortune this year, but here's the secret, I bought everything at garage sales. What great finds!

I also made two little zipper purses and another apron for my MIL but I forgot to take photos. I had soooo much fun making things for everyone! I'm going to start earlier next time so that I can accomplish more and not be so rushed.

Long time no see...

But here I am none the less.LOL

It's been a whirlwind month! My gifts are sitting under the tree, wrapped and ready for their new owners. We've already celebrated Christmas with my MIL since she's down south visiting my SIL. I've baked and given out many yummy treats to friends and neighbors AND I received the most wonderful gift from my wonderful MIL. She bought me this...
Photobucket

And because she blessed me, I was able to make this for Evie...
Photobucket

Do you think she likes it? (I just finished another one for Sophia to match.)

Jon went camping and took along a few surprises...

We decided to let the littles wear their Christmas outfits to church this past Sunday. Here's Sophia wearing Evie's dress from when she was three...lol

I'd LOVE to show you all what I've been up to but I can't until after Christmas. Too many snoopy family members and I worked too hard to let them find out early.lol

This year has been a wonderful blessing to me. It's been a year of trial and some hardships, but through those trials, I have come closer to my Father in Heaven and have learned how to trust in Him no matter the circumstances. Hard lessons, but good ones. I am truly thankful to be in God's care. I pray that each of you feel the Lord's presence in your lives this coming year. Thank you all for your support this past year even when I haven't been that faithful of a blogger. You all are great friends and I appreciate you!

Jon for president...

Jon's been working on a free online election study for the past 5 weeks. This week's assignment required him to take photos for his poster. These are great and I thought, since they're on MY SD card, I'd post them. Finders, Keepers.LOL

I'd vote for him. :)

We're all about improvizing around here...

The making of dinner when the kitchen is a mess requires thinking outside the box.

Sophia's tray makes an excellent cheese shredding stand...

It looks like Jon found the "Really, really, tiny room...
Photobucket

Yep, either that, or he's grown...
Photobucket

Speaking of teeny, tiny rooms...how did she manage to do this?!

What a goof!

Our Advent Study...

This year, we are using this study for Advent...

http://www.teachingmom.com/features/advent.html

We are REALLY enjoying it so far! It has lots of fun projects and it incorporates the Jotham book too. Instead of putting our tree up like we always do, this year we only set the tree up with the lights and we will decorate it each day, putting up ornaments that we make during our Advent study. Last night, we put up two different ornaments...Paper Chrismons and "Stained Glass" ornaments. We had a good time and learned quite a bit. Here are some photos...

Fun stuff! Our tree is already looking nice and it's only the first day of Advent!

We also did a Christmas cookie, called Stained Glass Cookies...they were fun and delicious!
