Here are three more colors that we've dyed so far...

We used blue raspberry lemonaide, black cherry, and grape.

These colors smelled infinitely better.LOL

The Days of Our Genevieve...

We had Genevieve's birthday party on Saturday and it went quite well. I think she had a great time and all her guests seemed to have a lot of fun. Evie asked for a Tinkerbell party this year. It was really cute! Here are some photos...

We had party games...

We're doing good. Just been crazy busy! Allison goes for her driving test on Monday. (We're all pulling for her.LOL) Other than that, it's been the same old thing. Run, run, run and hope the baby doesn't melt down somewhere.lol Evie's doing great in her school work. Loves her P.E. program and of course gymnastics. It's hard to keep her busy enough, really. She's the kind of person that needs to be going all the time and I'm not.lol I am trying though.

Tomorrow is Evie's 6th birthday party. I can't believe she's THAT OLD!!! She's really a great girl though. Very independant, helpful, and not shy one bit. Her P.E. coach loves her and we do too.

Happy Birthday Genevieve! I hope your party is everything you are dreaming of right now.

Blessings,

Project...

Genevieve and I worked on a neat project today! I was cruising through blogs the other day and happened upon this blog...

http://chasingcheerios.blogspot.com/2007/12/playsilks.html

and saw her beautiful playsilks. I've always wanted to buy some for the littles but just couldn't get past the expensive price tag in all those catalogs. Well, Melissa found them white at an amazing price and I decided to give this company (http://www.dharmatrading.com/) a try. I received the silks yesterday and they are REALLY nice!

Evie and I set to work dyeing the fabric scarves with Kool Aid packets. Yes, Kool Aid! Pretty neat! This web-site helped us figure it out...

Here's Evie cooking up a pot of scarves in green, yellow, and orange...

Mmmm, tasty. (Just to warn you all, this stuff doesn't smell that great...lol)
Photobucket

Yellow was stinkiest...good thing it was on the back burner...

There's my soon to be birthday girl...

And here's the finished project! Just lovely!

This was a FUN project! We have seven more scarves to dye this coming week and then the kids will have enough to share. I bought three Habotai 35x108 silk veils, six Habotai 35x35 silk scarves, and I got a free small silk scarf for my first order. The kids have already been playing with them and I can see that they will get a lot of use.

A Walk Around the Block...

If I needed just one word to sum up the week, it'd be BUSY. Boy am I glad that this week is over! I'm tired.LOL

We're all getting over colds. Sophia took the biggest hit but is recovering nicely. I figure though, that these photos are too nice not to share with my friends. School has been going great. I couldn't ask for a better group of kids this year. ::snort::

If I had to complain, it'd be about Allison's work schedule. She loves her job and they love her. Too much. I miss her terribly! She only has two more years before she's off to college and I feel like I never see her. She's happy though, and has goals, and we want to support that.

Well, here's some photos. I'd talk more but Sophia's cranky and I'm running out of time.LOL

The funny thing is, we never made it all the way around! LOL! I sure do enjoy these guys!

Happenings...

Well, it's not quite the end of week three but I have a bunch of photos in my computer that are begging to be posted.lol

It's been a very busy, but good week. Here's a photo of me and Sophia that Allison took. I really like it. I think I'll replace my little icon with this one.
Photobucket

Here's another one...

The littles have been quite the busy beavers! Those creative juices are definitely flowing around here. I just wish they cleaned as well as they created.lol They recently explored Legos...

Blocks and big Legos...

And, of course, blocks and matchbox cars...

Sophia's been a little sweetie, as always...

I hope to have a few minutes to write something later this week, but we'll see. As it is, I'm working on borrowed time.lol
