What in the World is Lisa doing?

Here's something else I did this week...

A friend of mine had a new baby and I made this diaper cake just for her. These are fun to make and pretty easy too!

Today at YMCA P.E., Sophia fell asleep in the swing. It was so cute! Here's a photo...

I wish the photo had turned out better. She was so sweet.

What in the World is Lisa doing?

I know you all have been on the edge of your seat just wondering what I've been up to...

Right?

RIGHT?

Ahem.

Well, anyway, I've been mighty busy.LOL

I finally finished that cute little dress that I was working on, you know, the one made from Jon's old Hawaiian shirt. Here's the reluctant model...

I still might shorten it a bit but I'm happy with it for now. I took a million photos but she was grumpy. Oh well.

Next, I made Allison an Uber-cool backpack for her work stuff. She was looking for something that said, "lifeguard stuff-back off." Also, "lifeguard stuff-is stinky and it better be washable." Basically, she wanted a beachtowel made into a backpack and I wanted it to cost me nothing.LOL We both got what we wanted with this...

I also made a cute little clothes pin holder for my mom but forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it to her. It was an old button down shirt of Isaac's sewn on the bottom. Very cute.

Well, that's it for now. I'm sewing and creating each week or two whenever the time is right and the mood hits me.LOL Who knows what I'll come up with next....

Blessings,

What in the World is Lisa doing?

I think I'm going to start a series of posts with the above title.LOL

The past two weeks...

I've been working on a homemade Christmas this year. My plan is to post where I find ideas and then my attempt at making it. I'm NOT very handy, but I enjoy trying to make things.

First, I found this tutorial and thought it'd be an easy place to start...

Really, it was the whole start to this madness.LOL

Here's my attempt at the bag...

I wanted to use something that we already had and no longer needed. Isaac had outgrown these pants, so I repurposed them into a neat new bag for him. I think he'll really like it.

My next attempt were these...
Felt Food! (it's an eggplant and egg, I guess I had egg on the brain.lol)

I may have found the idea here, but I'm not sure. Either way, this blog has some GREAT ideas for making homemade gifts. It was probably the next thing that made me decide for sure to attempt this...

My next project is this...

I got this here...

This dress used to be my oldest ds's FAVORITE shirt. He wore this all the time and was sad when he outgrew it. He was so happy to see it remade into something that will be worn by one of us.

The dress isn't quite done yet. I still need to hem the bottom and check the sides to make sure it isn't too wide. Sophia's not been well, so I've been winging it. (O.k., I've been trying it on Isaac.LOL He thinks it's overalls, like Max wears on Max and Ruby. Whatever works. ::snort::)

I'm also working on a ragrug and am repurposing as many old t-shirts I can find. Here's the tutorial for that and I'll post a photo once it's finished...

So, that's an update on my doings. I've been busy, but it's a good busy and I feel like I'm doing something to help our family through the holidays without just spending money on things. It feels good and I'm learning a TON.LOL

Blessings,
