Hi Lisa! Okay, I have to know, why should I bother to make my own tortillas? Seems like a lot of work when I can just grab a package from the store (in our case a BIG pack from Costco).

I thought you had to have a tortilla press to make them. Am I wrong? It sounds like you just make them right on a skillet. Do tell.

I love it when you post recipes. :) I was telling a friend about your wonderful menu plan and how you post it each week. She told me to forget coming up with my own plan and to just copy yours. Ha! You don't mind, right.

I'm glad you like my menus. Sometimes I think no one but me reads them.LOL

You are welcome to use my menus as is or even mixed up. I don't mind a bit. :)

I wrote a whole blog on the art of tortillas just for you...

Hooray! A blog just for me. My kids LOVE tortillas. I'm a bit worried they will see me reading your blog and get it in their heads that WE should make homemade tortillas too "like Lisa's family."

Is this something I can assign to my older two? They are fairly handy in the kitchen.

Oooo, now I have to go and read the post and be convinced to try something new. :)

Yes, your kids could do this just fine. My dd, the one who doesn't care for cooking, helped me with this batch and even said it was fun.lol

Homemade tortillas are excellent! Started making them years ago and now I can't stand the store bought varieties. They are pretty easy to make so I usually just make them as I need them.

It's fun watching people's reactions too when they see you roll out a perfectly round tortilla as if you just did some incredible feat!
