My Crazy-Busy Week...

Whew! This week was so much fun! On Wednesday, Allison came home from her exciting trip to Orlando to the LCMS National Youth Gathering. She had a wonderful time. She got to see her favorite band in concert, Stellar Kart and was in the front row of the Mosh Pit.LOL She has talked to us non-stop since returning and I think this was a very good experience for her.

While I was picking Allison up from the church, my best friend from Miami called to say she was in town with her kids and wanted to meet up! We knew she was coming but we found out while Allison was gone so it was to be a surprise for her. As soon as we got home, Eric kept telling Allison to put her things away and such and when he left the room she turned to me and said, "I sure hope Dad hasn't set up a play date for us, cause I'm exhausted!"LOLOL It took all I could not to laugh right then. When Maira and her wonderful kids showed up, Allison was sooo happy. They were all our best friends down in Miami. She and I have kids all the same ages which is quite a feat since our kids are so spread out. Everyone had such a great time, including me. It was so nice to talk with her and to see our kids play together again. Even Isaac and Karis had fun! They didn't even remember each other but they played together wonderfully. Genevieve kept telling Maira that she'd miss her each time she came by because I think she was afraid that she would forget to tell her. What a blessing it was to spend Wed and Thurs with my very best friend! Those two days were so much fun.
Maira
For about an hour on Thursday and all day Friday one of my best friends from highschool who used to live across the street from me came over with her kids. We had a really good time catching up and letting our kids play together. Kristy and I have kept in touch all these years even with us being in different states. She has three kids and on Thursday we had 14 kids in the house! One was a neighborhood kid.LOL

After such excitement it was hard going back to the normal routine.LOL But Sophia helped us with more excitement by waking up on Saturday with a terrible chest cold. We were really worried since it looked like she couldn't catch her breath. We ended up in the ER to get her checked out. She's fine. She has a bad chest cold and an ear infection but after we got her meds, she's been her old wonderful self again. She is truly a blessing! I've never had a sick kid be so happy.LOL

Sophia has found her toes as of yesterday! She was so cute sitting in Daddy's lap trying to catch and eat them.LOL I got some photos of the event...

I've got them Daddy!

This past week I began cleaning my bedroom but I've decided that it won't be the room I choose for the challenge. I don't think it qualifies as something that will improve my homeschool experience this year.LOL Basically I started it because my asthma has been bad and I was beginning to suspect the dust in my room.lol I've rearranged the bedroom a little and washed the bedding on my bed and Sophias and I washed the curtains. I also vacuumed up as much dust as I could since dusting usually makes me feel worse. Vacuuming didn't make me as sick and I think I'll do that from now on. Here is a before photo and I'll post an after once the baby wakes from her nap...

I had already moved some furniture around before I snapped a photo but it was pretty messy...

Here's an after photo, notice I moved the crib...

Here's the new crib location. This used to have the changing table that we never used...

Well, that's pretty much my whole week. It was a really good week and I've been thanking God ever since. If I could have kept Maira and her family I would have.LOL

Blessings,

Lisa

How lovely to get together with a friend. Sounds like Allison had a great time on her trip.

The color on the walls is gorgeous. Did you pick it and do the painting or was it in the house when you moved in? We rented our house before we bought it and the entire place (with the exception of one small bathroom that I begged her to leave deep red) is boring, boring, boring beige. I have only painted the kitchen and family room. The rest of the house remains white. Argh! I love to paint during the summer but so far this year it has NOT happened.

Sigh.

I'm just glad to see pretty color on someone else's walls. ha!

Thanks gals!

Kathy,

The paint was here when we bought the house. The only room I've had a chance to paint is Jon's so far. We are about to repaint the kitchen sometime in the next few weeks, maybe in a month.LOL

I have to say that these colors are just not me. Think Easter colors and you would see my last house.LOL We had pool blue, peptobismal purple, pink, yellow, and green in our last house.LOLOL Eric prefers to call my taste "South Beach" instead of Easter.LOL I am terribly unsophisticated.lol
