It has begun...

Sophia is amazed at the changes occuring in our home...

Today, we completely removed everything from our library. Boy what a job! It took Allison and I 3 hours to get it all out. My Mom took the little ones to Chuck E Cheese and that was a huge help.

After we got the room cleaned out, we removed the carpet and the tile from the hallway. Oh, we're homeschooling now! Jon had fun getting that tile up. The builders who laid the tile DIDN'T use morter under the tiles. That made removal easy but boy am I glad we decided to take it out! It sure wouldn't have held up for long.

Allison got the high spots for me. This is the new color...Bagel! We love it. I bought an automatic paint roller and it is amazing! We were able to paint the room in under an hour. Very nice!

Right now, we're painting the hallway with primer and tomorrow morning we'll finish the hallway so that we can begin the tiling job. I'm so excited to be making such good progress so fast!

Blessings,

That is amazingly fast progress, Lisa. I don't love home improvement projects, but it's always so nice when they're finished!

I love the color! You're really tackling that project with full force. Fabulous job! I can't wait to see the "after" photos.

Lisa - it looks great! I can't believe how much you've accomplished already.

Can you tell me more about the paint roller? How much did it cost? Is it very difficult to use? How is the clean up? I love the idea!

Thanks Ladies! We're moving along pretty quick. I think this is the blessing of having young adults around. They have lots of energy, are willing to do adult jobs with excitement, and aren't afraid of heights.LOL

We're really loving the color! It's looking so nice, we may need new furniture.lol

Kathy,

It's the Wagner Power Roller Pro. We got it at Home Depot for $79.00 and it was the best investment in this whole project! It has a variable speed control so it doesn't come out faster than you can use it and lots of attachments for corners and such. It's very easy to use but cleaning it is a chore. Since I'm doing all the painting, my dh has offered to do the cleaning. It works for me.lol

I think the tile for the library and hallway will take us about 2 weeks start to finish. I'll definitely be photographing the adventure for everyone though.lol

Thanks for the info on the power paint roller. That price seems really reasonable. I would imagine clean up would be more bearable if you set apart a good long day to be painting (in one color). :)

How nice to have a dh who is helpful with clean up.
