My Camera Saga...

It started with this camera...

Casio Exilim 4.0
We began our quest for the perfect camera. Small but sharp. Easy to use but detailed.lol My trusty little Exilim is a GREAT camera. The only trouble I had was trying to take photos of the littles with it or sports shots. My little camera couldn't keep up with the movement or the kids would be teeny-tiny when out on a field.

This was our next camera. I was not happy with the action shots at all. Many photos were ruined by blurriness. (We gave this one to Allison but she prefers my new camera)

We then moved to a Canon S3IS. My dh traded it in because I still wasn't happy. It was hard getting those moving little ones. I would need at least 10 photos of them just to get one good one. I had to adjust the ISO speed and it helped but then things were grainy. Here are some photos from it...

We finally just moved up the the SLR cameras. This one is my very favorite and I will not be trading it in.lol

It's the Canon Rebel xti (notice it's blurry, lol)

So basically, that's my review of the whole camera finding process we've been through.LOL I love, love, love, my Casio Exilim for being an easy pocket camera. It takes good stationary shots. It's soooo easy, just point and shoot. (We gave it to Jon and he uses it everyday.)

I love, love, love my Canon Rebel for it's action shots, and wiggly little people shots. It has great color and detail and it's pretty easy to use. I also love that I can buy different lenses for this camera.

Blessings,

Lisa

That's what I have - a Canon EOS Rebel XT. I love it! It is my first digital camera - I was a film hold-out until this January.

I have another entry on my blog for your challenge. My house is getting cleaner! I like this!

I can sure see the difference in the pictures too. Glad you found the perfect camera.

Thanks everyone! It's been an adventure for sure. Now everyone knows how OCD I can be.LOL

Well, I can totally tell that your Canon Rebel takes the best shots! Wow, what a difference!

Our neighbor came over with his big camera. It takes shots continuously, really nice camera. Robert's been jumping at the bit to buy me another new camera now. But I don't WANT another new camera (even if we could afford it, lol). WHAT would I do with changing lenses? Yikes, too overwhelming for me.

What a riot that the *picture* of your Rebel is blurry!!!

Well, you don't have to change lenses for most things. I don't have an extra lens yet and have been able to take any photo I've wanted. It does require me to leave the house to get good photos of the kids in the pool (I know tragic, right?lol)but for most things I don't even see the need.

I do see a major difference in most photos, if everyone is completely still (LOLOL) then the little camera is ok but otherwise forget it.LOL

Lisa,
Did you purchase your REBEL online or locally? I'm hoping to have the $$ to buy one for dh next month for his birthday. We already have several zoom and wide angle lenses that will fit it since we had a CANON EOS that we used to use all of the time before going digital. I wouldn't give up or trade my SONY SD800, but it would be nice to have the bigger zoom and wide angle for scenery and wild animal shots from far away.

I purchased it through Walmart.com They had the best price and I had a gift certificate.LOL

Just remember to get a card with it. We forgot and had to wait a week to use it.LOL

We got the card from ebay. It was the cheapest and the fastest we could find.

We actually have a Canon EOS Rebel that is not digital. Back when we were using "film" camera's this was the camera I took everywhere with me. Now, since switching to digital it just sits on the shelf.
