The Sophia Chroncles...

Photobucket

Dear Sophia,

I miss how you always wanted me to hold your little hand when you nursed. It had to be just so, with my hand cupping yours. I miss how your curly red hair would tickle my arm as I held you close. I miss looking into your little brown eyes and listening to your contented little coos as you would drift off to sleep.

Once again, you've surprised me. I think, surely you're too little to give up nursing. You can't possibly be ready to potty train. Brush your own teeth? No way!

You're my little one. My baby.

Photobucket

Aren't you?

Somewhere, along the way, you've decided to grow up on me. My amazing little one, I can no longer deny it, you're no longer my baby. You're my big, wonderful, beautiful big girl and I love you.

Goodbye sweet baby. Hello big girl Sophia.

Lisa, I hosted my nephew's graduation party LAST weekend, and then my dd Kate & I helped as the juniors served the seniors at our church graduation party THIS weekend, and I guess if the school year is over, Kate is officially a senior ... and NOW THIS on your blog. Stop it, you're freaking me out. {snort}

I'm not going to worry about it though, because none of MY kids are going to grow up & move away. Ever.

They just don't know it yet.

Liz,

My oldest is a senior now too. Yuck! What's with all this growing up business? I keep telling them to stop it...lol

Lisa,

Isn't it the truth? They are all so ready to fly off. Not fair!lol

Heather,

Thanks! Looking at those photos, the post just made itself. It's been a happy/sad kind of week. Hopefully, I'll make it through all this growing up business.lol

That was such a sweet post. Sophia does suddenly look like a big girl. So fast it all goes.

Amazing how quickly it goes....life seems to be moving slowly and so very hard and then BOOM you wake up and you're in a new season.

Sweet letter.
